Re: New Chao Gameplay (SADX)

^Most SADX mods are for the original 2004 PC port. That said, if memory serves, one of the things Better SADX does is convert the Steam version to the 2004 version.

Well, in all fairness, it wouldn't be the first time something clearly not in continuity with the games adapted events from the games. Shame all the Archie material might be stuck in IP purgatory though.

Re: What if Chao garden games were a standalone game?

^I think the fallacy you're looking for is hasty generalization. And for what it's worth, poor execution leading to boring or tediously repetitive gameplay is a general problem in game design, not one exclusive to the virtual pet genre. That said, there is a massive difference in the game balance ca...

The Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure had Adventure field eggs the same as SADX. Two of them, Gold and Silver, are more or less the same as the Gold and Silver Jewel Chao from the Gamecube and later ports, but while the third adventure field Egg is just a monotone black the same as you'd find in ...

Re: What if Chao garden games were a standalone game?

Well, the most obvious solution to obtaining things you get from Action stages in the adventure games would be to expand on the mini-games from the TCG and either make Chaos Drives and Animals items in the black market, or a rarer reward in the mini-games. That said, to borrow a few ideas from my ot...

Re: Anyone here like Sonic X?

I remember there being a bunch of recastings for the games English dubs around 2010 that was about as big as the shift from the Adventure/Heroes Cast to the Sonic X cast, but I wasn't sure if there had been any changes since. And admittedly, I haven't played any console game post-heroes, and Colors ...

I wasn't aware the archives even went back that far, but I'd argue a good rule of thumb, not only on this forum, but the internet in general is not to bump anything older than a month or that has dropped off the bottom of the first page, which ever gives the older cut-off. Of course, the local forum...

While Music is usually one of 4Kids' strong points(I actually Prefer Pokemon Johto and Kirby: Right Back at Ya to the corresponding Japanese openings, they gave Yu-Gi-Oh quite possibly the most epic instrumental opening ever, and their dub opening for Shaman King is on par with Oversoul) , I'd say G...

^Yeah, this day and age, there's no real reason not to target both major Consoles, all three major PC OSes, and whatever Nintendo is doing. Hell, aside from the fact proper gaming controls are an afterthought at best with most mobile devices, a Gamecube collection could probably run well on all thre...

I'm mostly ambivalent to the censorship necessary to meet the requirements of US broadcast standards, and considering Station Square is already supposed to be located in a US analog, 4Kids usual xenophobia doesn't bother me as much here as in their dubs that try to take shows set in Japan or a Japan...

Personally, I'd rather have Tails, Amy, or Blaze. Tails because there aren't that many sidekick characters in the roster, and Amy or Blaze because their aren't that many females in the roster. Plus, while Shadow or Silver could have some unique moves, they'd probably just make either a Sonic clone/e...

While I could beat the first level of 16-bit Spinball most of the time, I only ever got to the third level once, only to get game over almost immediately. And yeah, Team Dark is only hard in the sense that the game lets you play hard mode immediately instead of forcing you to more or less master the...

Considering that it appears to be browser based, it should already run on iOS and Android provided you're using a compatible browser. That said, no idea which browser would be your best option for running this on a mobile device since the only usable mobile device I own is a Raspberry Pi and it's ru...

Re: Chao Research being worked on

SA1DC probably is the game where compiled information on Chao is most spotty. That said, it seems a bit shortsighted to treat SADX and SA2B Monolithically. I've only played the Gamecube versions and a bit of SADXPC04, but even among what is well known, it is already known that there are significant ...

Okay, I know the 4000 years ago bits are based on Gerald's Journals from Sonic Battle and while I've never played Chronicles, I understand it identifies the Fourth Great Civilization mention in said Journals as the Nocturnus. However, I could've sworn Sonic Adventure stated its past events as being ...
