Re: Let's Discuss: Sonic Advance 3

I prefer Advance 2 overall, but Advance 3 had some nice features. I missed burst mode(or whatever it's called when you go super fast and leave multiple after images) being a shared skill and I was fond of how hard Cheese got nerfed(I was perfectly fine with Cream being Easy Mode in advance 2), but t...

Re: The Ideal Garden?!

^Not really. In the grand scheme of things, ideas are cheap and it takes quite a bit of effort to go from concept to fully realized and polished game... and quite frankly, Sega, or whoever they handed the porting job over to, didn't do that well with any version of the Chao Gardens after SADx GC... ...

Re: The Ideal Garden?!

Some things I'd want: Base system built upon SA2B GC. Addition of Luck and Intelligence types. Small animal roster including everything from both SA2B and SADX and then some. Color heterogeny can result in blended, striped, or splotchy coats in addition to the solid(monotone) and evolution dependant...

Re: Chao Grandparents

Like most, if not all, inheritable traits, a Chao inherits a stat grade gene from each parent. However, each Chao has three possible genes they can pass down for each stat grade. Basically, for each stat grade, a Chao has three slots for alleles: -The one inherited from their first parent, which I'l...

Re: What would your ideal Adventure remake be like?

Some things I'd want to see in an Adventure Duology Remaster: Backporting of the SA2 Mission system to SA1. Perhaps not the Lost Chao missions, but make the Standard, Ring Collection, and dTime Attack missions play like in SA2 and add a Hard Mode for SA1 action stages. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, a...

I can already hear the die hard fans of classic Archie Sonic panning this for inferior multiverse stuff. Possibly with nostalgia goggles firmly in place.

Re: A new Sonic cartoon coming in 2022?

If memory serves, Man of Action were the people behind the original Ben 10(no clue if they were involved in Alien Force and later sequels or the reboot) and Generator Rex, though I never got into the latter and have no idea how the company's reputation has changed since. That said, I never really pa...

Re: Custom Chao Gardens?

To my knowledge, the model format used in SA2 and it's ports remains only partially reverse engineered, so little can be done there beyond model swapping(though, I've long thought the battlefield for the Biolizard fight might make a nice basis for a garden). As for SA1, I believe it's model format i...

Re: Promo Tails, Knuckles & Amy Chao to US SA2B Hiccup

I believe the reason the download step works is that the GBA itself isn't region locked, and while I'm pretty sure the Gamecube is region locked, even if it wasn't, there would likely be compatibility issues with any interaction between different region versions of the same game or cross-regional co...

Re: When the chao becomes an adult does it stat influence reset?

The Run<>Power and Fly<>Swim sliders both reset to their neutral value upon evolution and again upon reincarnation.

The Dark<>Hero slider either gets set to it's neutral value(if evolving into a neutral chao) or maxed out in the direction it was already leaning and remains fixed until reincarnation.

Re: Is Chao Dying?

I think Chao fans have always been a rather small portion of the overall Sonic fanbase, and it doesn't help that it's been like 18 years since anything truly new was added to Chao and more than half a decade since we last got a major port of a game featuring Chao in a meaningful way. And sadly, foru...

Re: What do you want from a new Sonic Game?

Well, unless it was blind playable, I wouldn't be able to play it, and while there are things that can be done for color blindness and reduced visual acuity, I can't imagine making an action-oriented game like Sonic fully blind playable. A blind playable Chao Raising game maybe, but not a blind play...

^I believe it's referring to Sonic Robo Blast 2, A Sonic fangame from the 00s that was held in rather high regard and considered by many fans of the Genesis games to be a better 3-D Sonic Platformer than many of the official games from the Dreamcast/Gamecube Era.

Re: Will Chao Modding work on SADX for steam?

While SADX Steam does have a Chao Garden, and it's certainly possible to mod steam games, my understanding is that the majority of pre-existing SADX mods are for the Original CD-ROM PC port from 2004, and that the majority of Chao-specific mods are for the steam version of SA2B.

Your screen name suggests Eggman or possibly Perfect Chaos if Eggman had managed to build a version of the Egg Mobile that lets him control Chaos like a Giant Mech Pilot, but considering your dedication to Sonic Lore and trying to bring all the bits and pieces Sega has hinted at but never really fle...

Re: Which Sonic games are your favorites/most hated?

While I'm not all that fond of 16-bit Sonic 1 either, calling it and S3K garbage seems a bit harsh. Granted, even as someone who really enjoyed S3K, I also think claims of it being the "best of all time" are overselling it and can totally understand someone not enjoying it. Anyways, as it's hard to ...

I've never played any Tabletop RPGs, though I'd love to find a gamer group to join, especially since I haven't been able to play computerized RPGs in years due to blindness. Though, as rich as Sonic Lore is, especially including the various Comic and television series, I can imagine a number of Soni...

I don't want to get my hopes up, but maybe this is an indicator they might actually do something to revitalize Chao raising for the 20th Anniversary of SA2/30th Anniversary of the Franchise as a whole. Sure, this was a bit late for SA1's 20th, but let's not forget that the Dreamcast was kind of a fi...

My predictions: 1. The main site will remain online for as long as Mooncow can be bothered to pay the server fees. 2. I don't know the answer to your question, but a few things to consider: 1. Building a true random number generator is hard and generally relies on some non-computational source of randomness(such as how often a sample of radioactive material undergoes a decay event, minute fluctuations in the local ...

Re: Starting on the path of making an all S-Rank Chao and I have many questions.

In general, it's kind of hard to lower a Chao's Happiness short of deliberate abuse. As long as the chao in your active garden all know how to swim and you stand in the water to avoid unintentionally ignoring a request to be picked up, you should be fine leaving the gardens running for hours on end,...

I check daily for new posts, and admittedly, there's usually only enough new posts for someone who doesn't know finger binary to count on one hand and sometimes days with no new posts at all. Part of it is probably that the last biggish thing in Chao was the Steam and PS360 ports of SA2B and there h...
