I always teach my chao to walk and swim before they evolve. I usually have 5 levels in each, then get about 15 in the desired skill for the evolution. :)

Let's say that for example, you have a dark run/swim or something.
How exactly would I get this chao?
Would I make a dark run for the first generation, then a dark swim for the second?
or do dark run two times and there's something about gradual evolution?

I started a new file, and am getting a lot of the chao that I couldn't figure out how to get as a kid.

In order to get one, raise a hero fly the first time. *reincarnation*
Then raise it to be flying again. Then it will undergo gradual evolution which means that if you keep giving it swim stuff, it will eventually become Fly/Swim, correct?
