That discord isn't official (it's not really moderated very well and can go off topic fast) but you can still join that one too. I just think an official public discord of chao island should exist until we have the chat box back.

Actually, there's this here. Although you'd have to find a way to put that file in your VMU to your dreamcast. Otherwise it only works on emulator. I have all the files backed up on dropbox which is soon planned to be added to the main site.

When you enabled the mod and installed the loader did you hit "Save and Play"? Otherwise it should work if you select any three of the battle modes.
