Re: Animal behavior

1. No. To elaborate: Chao have have hidden stats for things like hunger, need to sleep, boredom, energy etc. From memory, high boredom and high energy makes your chao want to move around in the garden, and high boredom/low energy makes your chao want to perform actions they have access to (if any). ...

Re: Unexplored nevative chao behavior

there is no code for this. Chao behaviour is dependent on 'flavoured' bounding boxes, so a chao can't react based off its own experience to the behaviour of a player to another chao. For example, a chao getting petted creates an area around the chao that will inform other chao objects that the play...

Re: Unexplored nevative chao behavior

I've tried stuff like this before and got no results except for the usual unhappy/stamping/etc animations, and a few cases of chao attacking characters. Not discounting the possibility of "bully chao", but I've never seen any chao react to another chao at all except for the standard stuff (mating, s...

Re: I need help with SA2B Memory Cards!!

Eh well - I'm certainly no hardware expert - but Gamecube memory cards are flash based (it's basically an SD card), so you'll find that there is a correlation between the device's life span and how many write cycles it has had. Of course since we are talking about something you've had for a decade -...

Re: Sick?

I have seen all sorts of suggestions over the years, i.e. too much time in pool -> chao gets a cold etc... some methods make sense but regardless I haven't seen anywhere near enough positive results to treat it as canon - mostly because of how damn rare illness seems to come about. I've seen like 3-...

Re: Has any research been done on personality?

I can say with a fair amount of confidence that hatching methods don't change anything. All evidence points to any egg already existing in garden yields the same chao every time. Every time I have let two chao breed, or let an egg into the garden from the character's inventory, then saved and hatche...

Re: Chao Hybrid Secondary Evolutions

It takes 20 animals in a particular stat to maximise the evolution stat from 'neutral'/normal . Because this game uses a "slider" system, this means it may take up to 40 animals (but never more) of a certain stat to maximise it. If this is new to you, click here . * But basically, if you are startin...

Re: Advanced/Secondary Evolution troubles

As stated several times, fruit and age are needed. There is a subtle difference at 2, but not easy to notice due to gradual nature. If you compare your Chao to one freshly evolved, you should see the difference by now, unless you've been skimping on the fruit: http://chao.hippotank.com/gallery/image...

Re: Chao won't evolve?

Getting the chao's stamina will increse the speed of the evolvation, however if their stamina level goes over their strength they will start to turn into a normal chao, make their stamina about 12-15 and that should make them evolve. :dark: This is false. Chao evolve into the normal type by not lea...

Re: wtf happened?!

^ He said GC so it's SA2B eman, any history with hacking tools, either GBA or GC directly? I'm guessing not. Either way, hopefully the glitchiness is linked to you chao's second evolution getting messed up and reincarnation will fix it. I literally have no idea what could have caused this otherwise.

I'll give this a try, but I doubt it, at least for SA2B.

I've woken up Chao for breeding fairly often and only seen tired eyes/squiggly mouth in children of Chao with those expressions from parents/further back

Re: born an S chao?? Whuuuuuuuttttt?????

Chao generally have one a, one b, one c, one d and an e - or some amount with a similar "average."

Makes more sense if you think of the letter grades as numbers.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if your Chao had say, two e's to balance this.

Peacock small animal causes that posing. Assuming SA2B has the same stat system as sadx pc, my guess is boredom and energy have to be high. The ball moving pretty much for any reason at all will trigger them to chase if those unseen factors are met And I'm pretty sure I've had Chao triggered by a ball moving behind them All in all, seems s...

They're phoenix wings.

Yes, both sets.

Give skeleton dogs until wings are gone and you will see that they both disappear together.

Likewise bring them both back (at once) with some phoenix small animals.

Re: Half fish hints (DC)

Same for SA2B. Any drive or animal may remove the flame. Useless fun fact: if your Chao has the small flame ball when it transforms into a chaos Chao, it will have a dark chaos Chao's larger flame ball, even when evolving neutral or dark. However this also only lasts until drives or animals are given.

Read my two links, especially the one about evolution Summary- There are two values stored in your Chao that determine your Chao's current evolution. They are stored as two sliders. One for swim-fly, one for run-power. For, for example, a ?/?/Run Chao, you need to have run at max and swim-fly in the...
