Amethyst is my favorite gemstone and purple my favorite color, so the Amethyst Chao gets my vote. And yes, Moon Chao are coded like Jewel coats, and with hacking, there are dozens of other textures you can have applied to your Chao, though its debatable if any aside from the Moon Chao were intended ...

Re: Favorite Sonic game when you were a child

Well, the only Sonic Games I played as a child were the Genesis Trilogy, Genesis Spinball, and Genesis Mean Bean Machine. Then again, I grew up Nintendo, the Genesis and GameGear are the only Sega systems I've ever played a game for on original hardware, and I was well into my teens by the time SA2B...

Re: Best way to grind rings in....

Okay, I feel stupid for forgetting to mention this, but for SADX(and possibly SA1DC): Dig as Knuckles in Station Square until you dig up a magnet shield. Go to the hotel and stand on the Ring spawn button. The rings closest to the top of the stairs will endlessly be attracted to Knuckles and respawn...

Chao Cloning

The only method of cloning without hacking I'm aware of requires: -A Gamecube(might work with a Wii as well). -A GBA/SP(not sure if it works with a Gameboy Micro) -A Gamecube-GBA link cable. -Multiple Gamecube Memory Cards or compatible versions of both SADX and SA2B. As for the actual method: 1. Bo...

Well, in all fairness, it wouldn't be the first time something clearly not in continuity with the games adapted events from the games. Shame all the Archie material might be stuck in IP purgatory though.

Re: What if Chao garden games were a standalone game?

^I think the fallacy you're looking for is hasty generalization. And for what it's worth, poor execution leading to boring or tediously repetitive gameplay is a general problem in game design, not one exclusive to the virtual pet genre. That said, there is a massive difference in the game balance ca...

Re: What if Chao garden games were a standalone game?

Well, the most obvious solution to obtaining things you get from Action stages in the adventure games would be to expand on the mini-games from the TCG and either make Chaos Drives and Animals items in the black market, or a rarer reward in the mini-games. That said, to borrow a few ideas from my ot...

I remember there being a bunch of recastings for the games English dubs around 2010 that was about as big as the shift from the Adventure/Heroes Cast to the Sonic X cast, but I wasn't sure if there had been any changes since. I wasn't aware the archives even went back that far, but I'd argue a good rule of thumb, not only on this forum, but the internet in general is not to bump anything older than a month or that has dropped off the bottom of the first page, which ever gives the older cut-off. While Music is usually one of 4Kids' strong points(I actually Prefer Pokemon Johto and Kirby: Right Back at Ya to the corresponding Japanese openings, they gave Yu-Gi-Oh quite possibly the most epic instrumental opening ever, and their dub opening for Shaman King is on par with Oversoul) , I'd say G...

I'm mostly ambivalent to the censorship necessary to meet the requirements of US broadcast standards, and considering Station Square is already supposed to be located in a US analog, 4Kids usual xenophobia doesn't bother me as much here as in their dubs that try to take shows set in Japan or a Japan...

Personally, I'd rather have Tails, Amy, or Blaze. Tails because there aren't that many sidekick characters in the roster, and Amy or Blaze because their aren't that many females in the roster. While I could beat the first level of 16-bit Spinball most of the time, I only ever got to the third level once, only to get game over almost immediately. Considering that it appears to be browser based, it should already run on iOS and Android provided you're using a compatible browser.
