Chao Island's Christmas update!

Greetings.

There have been some hints dropped that recently that an interesting update may be approaching. You may have even seen some glimpses of the update being developed. Today I am pleased to release the full Christmas update and let you know what's new on Chao Island.

Christmas Theme
As requested, the Christmas theme is back once again! I've set it as the default for everybody, but you can change it back if you like. This theme will run for the month of December, after which time it will be disabled once again.

Chao Points
Those of you that have been around on the forum for a long time will remember that we used to have something called Chao Points; the newer members may have only heard rumours about this, or may have never heard of Chao Points at all! Well, now they're back.

For the most part, they work in the same way as they used to. You can find all the information in this old thread which I have updated today.

Shop & Items
Of course, Chao Points aren't much use without a place to spend them; therefore, we've brought back the shop as well. All the old items are back, along with several new additions to the line-up.

Previous Chao Points and Items
Those of you who were around when we last had Chao Points and the shop no doubt collected many things. We've brought back everything from the old database, so you should still have all the Chao Points and items that you earned.

Advent Calendar
As we had in 2008, we once again have an Advent calendar on the site to celebrate Christmas! You can take a look at the Advent calendar here.

For those unaware, an Advent calendar is used to count the days to Christmas. Every day you can open the appropriate door (for example, door 1 for the 1st of December) and receive a special gift! You can only open each door once. Don't forget to open them every day, or you'll miss out on the gifts!

The Advent calendar will tick over to the next day at midnight in the PST time-zone. That's 8 AM GMT. Therefore, you'll be able to open the first door in just under five hours from the time of this post.

For all discussion about your usergroups or clubs. If you want to join a usergroup, or find members, this is the place to go to!

Role-Playing
A forum for role-playing (RP) and other interactive story topics that require a lot of posts.
Chao Points and post counting are disabled in this forum.

Forum Games and Chat
Forum games such as "corrupt a wish" and "rate the above poster" can be played in this forum.
This is also the area for casual chat topics.

Ha. I was suprised when I was looking at the side of the board when I randomly came across Something that said how many points a user had. I was still a guest back when CPs were around, yet when I finally made my account, they were gone, without my knowing of it.

This is awesome. I remember when I joined back in '09 we had these things. Then when I left for that insanely useless amount of time, I had noticd they were gone and I never really got to collect any, haha. But I am glad now that they are back. I noticed the shop, I still have yet to go in there.
Thanks so much for bringing them back. It feels like the old CI again.
