Forum Upgrade Progress: Hero Theme and emoticons!

Hero Theme is up, Dark Theme will be next!

A few things to note, I've been finding some troubles implementing the additions I want to the forum so there is still work going on. Also I will be making sure the Chao Emoticons are updated and added to.

And I have had positive responses and many people making new emoticons! I thought I will post a criteria here that should be followed, firstly starting with a sprite sheet, original credit for the hero and dark recolours I believe goes to "Dragon Goddess".



Now many of you have been recolouring the chao with your own pallette - which although cool, I don;t think I will be adding them to the site (unless there is overwhelming demand). I will add emoticons as I see them in the thread!

1. Must use the same colour scheme as the rest of the emoticons/sprite sheet.
2. Must not be different height as mentioned in the other thread (a few of the current emoticons are mismatched)
3. Stick to just neutral, hero, and dark Chao with normal evolution.

I was wondering, are my sprites up to snuff? I mean..now they're matching the pallet (besides Hero Chao's blue, but I can easily fix that right back up) of the original sprites. I'd like to make these good

I think the ones you've done so far are really cool, the hero recolour especially looks really cool.
However the issue is, if we do choose your versions, we will have to re-do all the other emoticons to match.

What I suggest is - make about 3 emoticons with your recolour: eg
and post theme side by side, if everyone likes them more, and you don't mind the time, you can re-do all the hero icons and i'll replace the current ones! The reason I say just do a few first (like 2 or 3) is to make sure it looks good before doing the whole set (it would be really long to do the whole set and then everyone decides it's too blue or something).

Same goes for anyone that wants to recolour the other emoticons. To make it easier you could even recolour the sprite sheet before animating them.

Yo MC. I'm loving all the updates we're getting, but are we going to be able to go back to the original look of the forum? Or at least, having everything on the left instead of the right? I'll probably get used to it in time, but it'd be nice to have the option for the few of us who enjoy the old theme?

So for some reason, I was notified that someone posted in the Birthday thread. When I went to check, I was taken to the 56th page, instead of the latest one.

No idea what happened there, but I thought it'd be something to keep in mind.

Hero theme on mobile has "Home", "Wiki", etc. barely legible as it's white writing on a white background.

Also, requesting the desktop version of the site on mobile (iOS)... signs you out. That's all it does. Not every time but it's done it twice so far

I'm posting this here to see if it's just me or not:

I check the box to stay logged in every time, but for some reason when I come back to CI maybe a day later I have to log in again. Not a big deal since I can easily log back in, but I wanted to check if this is my browser being wonky or CI itself.

It happens to me too. Next day or the day after.

I've only had to re-log-in once since my initial log-in on the new version of the forums. For the record, I'm using Iceweasel(a rebranded Firefox) and running I think version 43.

Hero theme without the banner and header interface to go with it resembles the default bulletin board layout tbh. Not to mention the new header still clashes horribly with the rest of the theme. The dark theme had that same problem as well, when that was still available (and the classic themes).
