So earlier today, while riding in my dad's truck through town, listening to my MP3 player (before I cracked the screen later today), I turned my head to see a totaled car, that had been forcefully buried into the asphalt. My initial reaction was of course, "How the hell did that happen!?" I looked ahead to see that the streets were in utter dissonance. Little did I know what was transpiring...

Total bummer.
If you haven't guessed already, those are all movie props. That's right, a budget film is being shot merely 6 miles from where I live. The movie in particular, is an adaptation of Goosebumps. They're apparently filming a scene where a giant mantis ravages our quaint little town. Jack Black apparently plays a big role in the making of this movie, so he's somewhere around here too.

I haven't read a Goosebumps book in a few years, but I bet it's pretty interesting to have this new film being shot relatively close by. If the movie seems promising enough, I might check it out some time once it's released.

Cool. The world can always use more giant monsters, and giant mantids are a classic.

Sweet!
A Shocker from Shock Street was my favorite!
I've been collecting Goosebumps and other R. L. Stine books since I was young, just missing around 4 of the 64 Goosebumps 'classic' books.
This is so exciting, why haven't I heard of this before??
Have fun with the nearby filming. See if you can become a local extra in the film. There was a filming nearby where I lived just last year-one of my friends's dad was an extra..but the scene was cut out in the final film. :c

I never liked the unexplained cliffhangers at the end of absolutely every Goosebumps book ever.

Bumping now that the movie's out and footage of my hometown in the movie is now on youtube.

Seeing town hall getting decimated like that is pretty neat.

I didn't even remember this topic when the trailers started airing. I guess I should pay more attention next time!
