Chao Island: Tranquil Corrupt Genocide is a cardbattling simulation game featuring 32 Chao Island users. The idea was inspired partially by the attempted fangame "CI Strife!" by Twin, and expanded upon by various people including Chocolate_Chao, Triert, Chao Ball, Ka Night, and Riku.

Plot

One morning, Mooncow has mysteriously vanished. Of course, there's no way to determine a new administrator other than playing cards. And thus, thirty two inhabitants of the island arrive for a card battling tournament organized by Fusion to determine the new administrator of the island. You are [PROTAGONIST], a young [BOY / GIRL] who decided to join the tournament on a whim. Do you have what it takes to become the new administrator? It also seems as if something shady is going on behind the scenes...
Gameplay

The game has two distinct modes, the overworld and the tourney.

In the overworld, you as the protagonist are free to roam around by selecting various locations on a map. You can fight NPCs to get money and buy new cards from Chaobot's shop. Perhaps you could even get a rare holographic card! You can also talk to the inhabitants of the island to gain advice and battling tips. Once you're done in the overworld, you can head to the arena to battle it out in a bracket match.

In tourney battles, you are given a chance to select a deck of thirty two cards, with a limit of eight user cards. User cards are based upon members of the site, and are your main "playable characters", so to speak. The remaining spaces are filled with effect cards, which do things such as inflicting status effects on your opponent, boosting stats, and even changing the terrain.

Once you and your opponent have selected your decks, the battle begins. Battles take place on a 32x16 grid. Half of the field belongs to you, and the other half belongs to the opponent.

You can place up to four user cards on your side of the playing field at the start of a battle. From then on, you control them once per turn. User cards can either move around the field, launch ranged attacks, use effect giraffes, or wait. They may also switch out to another card, but doing so uses up their turn.

The amount of spaces a card can move is determined by how many stars it has in Speed. Take the amount of speed stars and multiply them by 3. For example, if I were to be using a Minty card;

I would be able to move nine spaces. Cards can move in any direction except diagonal, and may not occupy the same space as another card.

Ranged attacks can be used against any card on the board, but after being used, they take two turns to charge back up. They may be the most important facet of the gameplay. The damage done by ranged attacks is determined by how many stars a card has in Special. Take the amount of Special stars and multiply them by 1.5. Using Minty as an example again;

Minty's ranged attack would do 7.5 damage.

HP is determined by the amount of Health stars, multiplied by ten.

Minty has 20 HP.

If two cards are next to eachother on the playing field, they will enter direct combat. Both cards will get to attack eachother a certain amount of times, depending on the amount of Speed stars they have. Take the amount of Speed stars and divide it by 2. If it's an odd number, round up after dividing.

Minty would attack his opponent twice.

Goron also has three Speed stars, so he would attack Minty twice.

The amount of damage done by a direct attack is influenced by how many Power stars that card has. Take the amount of Power stars and multiply them by 2.

Minty has only one Power star, so he only does two damage. However... Goron is an Ignis card, while Minty is an Aqua card, if you paid attention to their backgrounds. This means Minty has an elemental advantage over Goron. Thus, take the damage done normally, and multiply or divide it by 1.5, depending on whether the elements are to your advantage or disadvantage. Minty therefore deals 3 damage, which is still quite scrawny. However, this is balanced out due to the way math works-- elemental differences still can't make up for a lack of power, but stronger cards get a much larger bonus than weaker card.

Once a card has been defeated, or, banned, it is unable to be used for the remainder of the battle. Another card is put out in its place, usually the next in the deck. The battle continues like this until all of the user cards on a side have been defeated, and the winner advances in the bracket.

whoa hey i really dig these new tracks! i think either minty's or triert's is my favorite
my only problem with this is that i think it's way too early to be slapping a release date on it or anything.....also the name is kinda goofy haha

i see your point about the release date
but truthfully it's more of a "if everything goes perfectly it could get out this early", but i'll edit it to "2013" or something

the name is incredibly goofy, yeah. i just needed to think of something that worked with TCG haha
