Re: Overwatch
Also, to clarify, Tracer isn't the only one with that pose.
We should be more upset about the vulgar butchering of Winston's character with that one skin that makes his eyes yellow. That's truly upsetting. Blizz where you at? I got my copypasta well thought out essay all typed up just waiting for the word.

At least link Totalbiscuit's video if you're going to steal a joke from it.

Re: Overwatch
I know like nothing about the game other than when it shows up in the menus for other games on the Battle.net launcher, so I've never seen the pose before today. I don't get what's wrong with it, it just looks like a generic pose? Like. I guess her pants are a bit form-fitting for something that doesn't look like it has seams but that's nothing new to character design.
Also Blizzard staff bowing down to such a request may just be the smartest thing to do in this situation, because there's a chance that if somebody hates it and posts about it through Twitter or Tumblr, suddenly it spreads and everybody thinks it's awful, and that's what you'd want the least, right? It's safer to just comply at the moment.

Re: Overwatch
the people complaining about it being there are just as irritating as the people complaining about it NOT being there. move on.
help me
Re: Overwatch
Not again, not anymore. We have a lot of reasons for being just as annoying, this keeps happening to other games a lot. We're going to get mad and stay that way, we hate getting mad more than the people who go to college to learn how to get offended on a whim.Lord Spiritomb wrote:the people complaining about it being there are just as irritating as the people complaining about it NOT being there. move on.
@Rea
You make it sound like Blizzard is being held at gunpoint here, shouldn't we be deal with the people holding others at gunpoint instead?

Re: Overwatch
The only issue I have with this situation is this:
WHY COULDN'T BLIZZ DO THIS WITH STARCRAFT BALANCE? Like Jeez if you're gonna comply to silly requests, the least you could do is balance your damn game to the point where protoss stands an even chance with the rest of the races.
Rant over. We'll all forget about this situation in a few months anyway. All I hope is that they replace it with something cool instead of just leaving it empty.

I'd rather pay $5.99. At least I'd be able to meme about it when I win.

Re: Overwatch
I don't really care to be honest. They'll likely replace it with an ever better pose to compensate for it, so there's really no need to get worked up about it.
Though I do get why this would be infuriating to some. It really is a shame Blizzard sold out to one complaint, but in the end the game is still going to be fun +or- a single pose.
I do hate the fact that the reason OP wanted Tracer's pose removed was because they were trying to imply that if you're funny, spunky, and upbeat, you can't be sexy because that doesn't fit your character. They also said it was ok to sexualize Widowmaker because... she's meant to be sexy? Very conflicting statements, but whatever. Apparently, it's ok to be made to be sexy, but you can't be sexy if that wasn't your exact purpose.
Like I said though, it's a classic situation of one voice drowning out many, but nothing really major happened. Now, if they did something similar on a larger scale I think we'd have a big problem, but as of now it doesn't really feel like something to get so worked up over.
Keep in mind, the game is still in beta. This pose wasn't even finalized into the actual game, it could've been removed at any time. Same with other poses. The reason it's in beta is to get feedback, and if someone has a problem with it then it's up to Blizzard to decide if they'll listen to that complaint or not.
Unless you were going to use the over the shoulder (which imo is probably the ugliest one Tracer has, but that's not really important), this doesn't really apply to you too much.

Re: Overwatch
People don't pay 60 dollars just so they can have parts of the game removed because one person complained about it. If this was supposed to compete with TF2, they already made their first mistake.Fox Boy wrote:Unless you were going to use the over the shoulder (which imo is probably the ugliest one Tracer has, but that's not really important), this doesn't really apply to you too much.
They'll actually only pay 40 dollars at most, just look at Fire Emblem Fates

Re: Overwatch
^ Yea, the game's going for $40 via pre-order in the US and comes with a limited edition skin.
Anyways, Roivas, Fox, are either of you planning on purchasing the game/have the game pre-ordered/are in the beta?

Re: Overwatch
@ Triert: Don't start throwing $60 on me. You pre-ordered a game that's in beta, you can't be guaranteed everything you see in it. Nobody pre-ordered the game for the over the shoulder pose, and if you did you made a big mistake and should get your money back because nobody wants to play with someone shallow enough to drop $60 on an optional victory pose they saw during beta footage, and that person shouldn't waste their money on a game that doesn't include that victory pose.
You paid $60 for Overwatch, and Overwatch isn't released yet. Nothing seen or introduced into the beta is what will for sure be in the game. If you think that just because it isn't a balance change it shouldn't be modified or removed, you're entirely wrong.
@ Nova: I've already bought my Origins Edition. Sadly, I wasn't invited into the beta but it's only a matter of time at this point before the pre-order/open beta begins.

Re: Overwatch
I looked it up it's around £29. Probably for the standard edition.
If it's actually tf2 like, sure I'd play it for a bit. It's surprisingly cheap for a new game. I expected it would be around £40-50. If my computer could handle it of course.
It might be fun, I've seen gameplay here and there of it.

Like, legitimately, if you need it, I can lend you some cash. I'm hopefully coming into some money tomorrow after I sell some of my old gaming PC rig stuff, and a spare $20 or $30 wouldn't brake my bank.Crash32 wrote:Haha $60

It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but at this point there's not much that can be done. Either Bilz will decide to put it back or not. I just hope this doesn't happen again.
