Skyrim / Pretty PC Mods
Gday lads
I don't suppose anyone else here enjoys modding video games? I've recently spent some time tinkering with Skyrim, and I like how it turned out!
I have plenty more screenshots to share if anyone is interested!
Most of you will probably already know I enjoy doing renders and producing content in Source Filmmaker, such as in my art thread.
What about you?

Show me more Skyrim, damnit!
I don't make mods but I love seeing them. Unfortunately my computer is very slow, so I can't use any of those super pretty Skyrim mods. :')
I love those mods where they add in all kinds of new items and actions ahhh.

Re: Skyrim / Pretty PC Mods
Don't worry guys, I get maybe 24fps tops, average around 15fps, and in snowy/super busy areas it drops to 1fps sometimes. My video card is pretty outdated, I'd upgrade it if it weren't for the fact I just bought a second monitor and some guitar pedals. It's good enough for screenshots though!
Plus, it's only like $5 during a Steam sale and you can get refunds easy now!
Ever tried texture mods/overridden materials? It's super easy to do in TF2/GMod/SFM, probably the same in L4D2. Just ask me if you want to know moreretrolinkx wrote:I've made five L4D2 sound mods.

I think you'd be surprised how well some PCs can run modded Skyrim at a low resolution with the graphics turned down. It still looks pretty nice too, it looks basically the same at medium (my screenshots are at ultra) but with less trees and stuff in the distance + less water reflections.Lord Spiritomb wrote:i love the skyrim mods, its so pretty, but A. i dont have the computer to run that at all and B. i dont even have skyrim on pc :'c

Re: Skyrim / Pretty PC Mods
A $400 to $600 rig will certainly do modded Skyrim like a beast if you make compromises.
On the other hand, I use a dual GTX 980 rig (programming pays enough cash to be irresponsible with it and only have to live on ramen for a matter of weeks rather than years) and can run the game + a couple hundred mods "too fast" (over 60 fps in Skyrim breaks game physics, so it has to be capped).
Yes, it can run Crysis.

Re: Skyrim / Pretty PC Mods
Mods are bad, m'kay...
Actually on the topic of cheap PCs running skyrim my 2 year old laptop with an i3 was able to play it just fine and my macbook air (running windows 8) (1.4Ghz i5) runs it around 40+ fps. If you have an older desktop with daul core CPU more than 2GB of ram (4GB+ would be prefered) and a spare PCIe x16 slot picking up something like a Nvidia GT 740 for about $80 will run skyrim at pretty well. Skyrim is old now so you don't need anywere close to bleeding edge hardware for it...
On the down side my hardware doesn't compete with enzo's and he is making me depressed because I went with a super small itx build and can only fit 1 gtx980 :'(
I'm going to go cry now...

Re: Skyrim / Pretty PC Mods
Mods are the reason I rebought Skyrim on PC after hundreds of hours on xbox.
Everything is so pretty and great and you can add little baby Khajiits and adopt them <3
I will mod literally any game possible on PC. I can't count how many times I broke the Sims because I had over 300 of them running at once. (Mostly clothing/hair/ect)

Re: Skyrim / Pretty PC Mods
I love modding Skyrim. I can't seem to get ENBs to work though...just 4k textures. The night sky looks really good, and should I hop on the computer, I'll show it off if anyone wants.
hey there! I don't have anything to put here for the moment, you can just move along now.

Re: Skyrim / Pretty PC Mods
I've modded games before, I haven't modded Skyrim though. I do love the thomas the train engine replacing the dragons mod.
Quote removed because SOMEONE had to bug like 3 mods at a time over a signature.

Re: Skyrim / Pretty PC Mods
I swear, that's the only mod anyone knows about and it's not even popular
I've never seen it before on steam or the nexus or anything...

Yeah go ahead! It's strange that you can't get ENBs to work, you just paste the enb .dll file along with the files from an enb of your choice into your skyrim directorynaruto_chao wrote:I love modding Skyrim. Re: Skyrim / Pretty PC Mods
I just finished this.
Not sure why the video is all choppy. The game ran at around 55-60fps while I was recording.
Also, the static only seems to occur when I spawn chargers myself. I didn't hear it in game normally.
