Perfect games.
Now we all know no game is perfect. Nothing is perfect, not even my Perfection Medals in Halo.
But we all have that ONE game (or perhaps many) that so near perfect they might as well be called perfect.
For me, it's Ghost Trick. It's damn near flawless and it's got everything you'd want from a game. Interesting Gameplay, Likable characters, a great story, simple yet challenging puzzles, great music, interesting graphics for a DS game. It's got everything except a good replayability factor
Sure, I could put games like God Hand and Skies of Arcadia in there, but I can see glaring flaws in both of those games that Ghost Trick just doesn't have.
How about you guys, what's your perfect game in your eyes?

prof. layton unwound future, very s[milar case to ghostrick but i find it worth replaying every once in a while actually
i also like mh4u very much, but the story is really weak, i wouldn't mind calling it a perfect game however since imo everything else makes up for

Metroid Prime.
Maybe Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Or The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening. Those are games that strike me as being timeless and flawless.

Re: Perfect games.
Almost all the ace attorney games are pretty great. Some cases aren't as great as others, but overall the quality is kept at a consistent high and each case introduces new and interesting characters.
Only real flaw is that there are only so many witnesses and stuff that you can pin down who it is pretty fast. The only thing that balances this flaw is that you don't know HOW they did it, and thus have to figure that out and prove your client is innocent.

Re: Perfect games.
xenoblade chronicles, as i recently stated in that topic
The soundtrack, the story, the gameplay, the characters... It's all perfect. The graphics arent the greatest, to be fair, but I actually like them a lot and cmon, its a Wii game. There's so much to do and explore, and although I can't really say (as I have not actually beaten it yet), I would say that it even has plenty of replay value. Seriously, the best game I've ever played by far.

Re: Perfect games.
im tied between skyrim and pokemon mystery dungeon: explorers of sky
they both have tons of replay-ability, skyrim has loads of content and great aesthetics (and dragons), PMD has great music and a story that literally makes me cri evry teim.

Tetris.
Simple rules and objective, infinite replay value, perfect for a quick distraction between classes or an all-night gaming jam, and playable on pretty much anything that can play games.
Magical Tetris Challenge on the GBC and Tetris Worlds on the GBA are probably my favorite "official" versions I've played.

Re: Perfect games.
For me, that would be Spelunky.
The controls work well and you can do some pretty crazy moves once you get used to them, and it is sooooo satisfying when everything goes right. The music never gets to be a drag no matter how long it goes on. Every time I die, I can (almost) always say that it's because of something I did or didn't do, so the game never feels unfair to me. Exploring caves is a blast solo or with friends, and even the deathmatch mode is a good time. I could play this game for 30 seconds or 3 hours and I'll never feel like my time was a waste.
EDIT: It's also cheap. Like, around $3.something USD on sale.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for the Nintendo 64. I've replayed this game a stupendous amount of times because of its sheer enjoyability factor—everything about the game is golden and shines brightly (as ironic as that sounds).

This is a little philosophical gem that I said when I was insanely tired.

tbh i haven't really found the perfect game yet
i mean there are some that are higher up but not one that i can say "i love this game. i will protect it"

Hrm, tough call. I'd say Portal is probably the first one I can think of off the top of my head, hard to find a flaw with it unless you want to call it "too short", it did what it wanted to do and it did it well. Portal 2 was close, but I feel like it had some issues, like how a lot of old Aperture was just looking for a tiny surface to put a portal on.
Also, FTL: Faster Than Light is pretty great if you like Roguelikes, and it goes on sale to $5 and below pretty often. Can't recommend it enough,

Re: Perfect games.
so when i think of perfect games i think of something that captivated me until i finished it and still does, because most games lose me after about two weeks or aging. like i'm 23 but i can't enjoy something like mario 64 again it feels awful
probably MediEvil, viewtiful joe, bioshock 2, ffx, dead space, dragon age origins
there's a few i can keep going back to

Re: Perfect games.
I liked Bioshock 1 and Infinite, but 2, though?
Bloodborne, TTYD, and, ehhh, MW3. Not sure if Furi will hold, but, so far, it's pretty dang solid in all the ways I want it to be.

Re: Perfect games.
sophia lamb is far more interesting to me and i found the further dilapidated rapture more immersive, also big sisters were kinda fun to deal with
if you look at bioshock as a series, yeah 2s a bit of milking ground 1 already tread and the luster of seeing rapture can't really be replicated, and it got positive reviews despite fans being a unimpressed. i totally liked infinite but columbia and vigors didn't grab me so i stand by 2 which to this day
i really have no idea why 2 stuck with me. i can't like even mega say something like "i played them outta order" because i didn't
it's probably my most deviant gaming opinion that doesn't really make sense to anyone
