I'm sure some of you have already seen this, but I figured it deserved a thread.
Marc Laidlaw, the Half Life writer, had his NDA expire recently since he left Valve. He posted the storyline for Episode 3 as a result:

Named are obviously changed in order to evade legal issues, but if you want to read it with the proper names someone edited it.
So we may have never gotten Half Life 3, but at least there's a modicum of closure. More official than headcanon since it's the writer, though less official than a game or official story release would be. It's probably the best we're going to get, so there we go. I didn't have any hope of seeing the series conclude to begin with, so this is really unexpected.
