Cuphead Thread

Post by Nano »

In an effort to keep my bff Wyatt on the site, I made this thread.

Game is actually pretty good, and I did a lot better than I expected when I first played through on regular.

(Note: My total death counter was 224, from beginning of the game to the final boss being beat)

How are you guys liking it?

Like my idol Ding Dong said, I personally can't find anything wrong at all with the game or its design, artstyle, etc

Except that I dislike how basic the bodies for Cuphead and Mugman are. I think they could've done something interesting with their bodies or hands

Really excited to get my hands on it next week. After taking a history of animation class and learning about just how impactful Fleischers were, I can definitely say I appreciate how much they're inspired by their work.

Personally I was a bit disappointed that some of the power ups were so useless.

Once you got smoke bomb you never needed any other trinket. I think the only time I switched it out was for the train, and that was probably the only time.

Scatter shot op.

I'm planning on doing a shop-less run eventually after I beat the base game. It's hitting all the "retro action platformer/boss fight" buttons for me. Wish I could get it on Vita so I could play it after experiencing other older games, but like Sonic Mania, it's definitely on my buy list.

They're simple but I think there's an old adage that states that a simple easy to remember design is better in the long run for your brand.

Wally Warbles would like a word with you

In all other respects the boss fights felt incredibly tough but never out of reason. Except for Grim Matchstick and the Baroness, Grim himself in his second and third phase manage to hit me in the nads hard, and Baroness miniboss rush went sour fast for me at times. I got a lot of joy when Kahl's robot died, especially after how brutal his first phase is.

I don't know what would be more alarming: the Bendy fanbase tearing the Cuphead fanbase apart, or the Cuphead fanbase becoming as bad as the Bendy fanbase. And by the looks of things, the latter might actually happen.

Oh, another game I'll never have a chance to play. How thrilling.

Really love this game, the visuals and music are stunning. I recently got it, but haven't had much time to play it. I've gotten to the second island on regular, but that's about it so far.
