Chao crying for very short periods?

Post by ImperishableCat »

I just noticed that one of my chao, Mokou, has been crying for very brief periods of time, like about a second or 2. She never makes crying noises, just the crying animation for a very short time. I have never abused her and on the same trip to the garden that I saw her crying, she gave me a thumbs up, so she likes the character I'm using. What is going on?

I've experienced the same thing. Do you feed her often? Even though chao mostly get the fruit on their own, they might still go hungry.
That's what happened with my chao. After I started feeding him he stopped the short crying periods, but it might be a different case with you.
That wasn't the reaction I was expecting, good sir.

The same has happened to me. It is likely the chao is a crybaby, and does that at random times. It will not hate you for ignoring it when it chooses to do it.

When Chao are hungry, they tend to crying while lying down. If that's what your Chao is doing, then give it a fruit or two.

That's the thing. She isn't crying while lying down, she's crying while sitting up for such a short time that I barely see her doing it, and I don't hear it. I just sometimes catch her rubbing her eyes for a second.

Mine does that too.
I haven't checked her personality, but maybe it's because they're a crybaby.

Don't worry too much about it, that's a normal animation. Chao do this randomly, but it could be an animation of the Chao wiping its mouth after eating or getting rid of any sleep from under its eye, luckily it's no sign of abuse. :)

I have experimented with this. If you pick up a fruit that the chao is eating even if the chao takes it back quickly, it can still make your chao cry like that from time to time :chaocry:

 Chao don't wear diapers.
These are the reasons: [Not 100% sure if correct.]
1.Your chao's personality is Crybaby
2.Your chao is tired.
3.After your chao wake up. He/She will rub his/her eyes.
4.Your chao is still hungry.
5.You take away his/her fruit while he/she is eating.

 I have no idea what else.
Rainbowisawesome.
How do you put your chao here?
And check out these epic chao:

I may know what's wrong, I had a Chao (Grumpy) who i cared for very nicely as well, after a while i noticed he was doing the same thing, he was crying very short periods but not making any sounds either, after a while of noticing this i finally took him to the doctor for a checkup, It turned out he had a rash so the doctor gave him some medicine and he was all better, so your Chao may have a medical problem as well so take him to the doctor :D

Out of experience, that has never happened to me. I'm not even sure that it is possible that a chao could have a rash. Every time a chao cried, it was just hungry or was abused (or even farted on  ) and never needed to go to the doctor to get medicine.

If your chao has been crying for a long period of time, try feeding it a lot until it wont eat anymore or try evolving it.

Chaosnachochao was Kind of Correct.

You Know when you go to visit the doctor to see your chao's stats? Dont see the stats. Get a check-up, and your chao should be fine. :)
If it continues to briefly cry, give it 1-2 fruit. 3+ may make it cry, because it is forced to eat while it is no longer hungry.
If it is still crying, pet it a lot to where its halo thingy turns to a heart at least 15 times.
If it is still crying, (geez, these chao are crybabies xD) give it animals or chaos drives, and enter it in a race. It probably wants attention.
If it is still crying, take it to kindergarten.
after that, IDK.

Yeah, but if you force them to eat like 6 fruit they begin to cry. I should know this, I knew and lived with my chao for 5 years.

That's never happened to me. Are you sure? The only Fruit-related reasons they cry are if they are hungry or if someone takes away their Fruit while they are trying to eat it, as far as I know of.

Is the chao looking down for a second frowning while sitting? If so the chao wants attention due to spoiling.
