But, if I remember correctly, Two-tone Whites look like default-colored Chao as babies. You know, they look like Two-tone Normals until they Evolve.

I am pretty sure Two-tone White Chao aren't Orange as babies... ._.

I see similarities, but at the same time, your Chao looks a bit more like it's glowing. o_o

Yeah, it may be the so called "Bright Chao" people on the forum have been talking about. Where in the HD versions of the game the two-tone chao that are supposed to be Shiny are just super bright instead. But who knows, I'm sure Crazo will be, if not is already investigating.

No idea, unless the breeding system got a total revamp, as to where babies get affected more by the parents? Since it is the offspring of a Two-Tone Orange and a Shiny White,

While at work today I was thinking and now feel kind of stupid. Since I keep getting Shiny Orange Mono-Tones, I'll just raise one and breed it with my Normal Hero Chao, Ta-Da, Shiny Orange Two-Tone acquired.

This Chao really makes me wonder what other mysteries may be hidden in this new version of the game...

(Sadly, I do not have the System for it, I only have the GameCube version.)

DC versions had slight differences in their Chao colours compared to Gamecube's, so I wouldn't be surprised the colour scheme would also differ in the 360/ps3 ports.

When you breed a Shiny Monotone White with a Orange Twotone, consider the possible outcomes:

(from most common result to least common)
Shiny Monotone White
Shiny Twotone White
Shiny Monotone Orange
Shiny Twotone Orange

Assuming the Shiny White is pure, that means it's a 100% chance of getting another Shiny. But looking at your images (especially the baby Dark Chao) we see no 'sparkles'!! So unless the port has failed to pass on the Shiny texture to offspring Chao, and in its place revamped the hue and brightness of colour by 700%, that may explain how your Chao doesn't really resemble the Twotone we'd expect to see from the Gamecube.

In terms of genes and hidden genes from your scenario, you'd have a higher chance of getting Shiny White Twotone than a Shiny Orange Twotone. Your Chao seems more like a Shiny White Twotone than an orange one, while the Neutral Run looks very typical of a Twotone White, the babies however do not. Again methinks that's because of any possible tweaking and changes to the programming they may have made for the ported versions, I'd be interested how your Neutral Run looks as it advances into Second Evolution.
(I know there's a colour change gradient between different types of twotones depending on what type they're turning into, I just wonder if its changed drastically since the Gamecube version)

At this point that seems to make the most sense. I agree it is most likely a Two-Tone White, and so does Citrus, but the thing that's worth pondering is when it was a baby. But as you said that could just be the port differences. I'll post more pics as it progresses through life, but as of now I'm still working on getting a Shiny Two-Tone Orange.

Since I don't have the port and can't test this myself, is it possible for you to breed a Shiny White with another non-shiny Monotone of a different colour (i.e. blue)? See whether or not the Shiny layer is carried over, if it isn't, see if the shiny baby looks anything different to the non-shiny parent.

If Shiny does appear, then maybe looking into a Twotone/Shiny gene conflict may yield some explanation.
