I thought to myself...once I saw I had been nominated for the Best 2 year veteran in Nitendawg's Chao Island Awards. That someone, somewhere out there liked me and knew that my existence was an importance to them. You might want to pull up your chair and refresh your drink.

It was dark. It was cold too. A few whole night without sleep would have killed a man. The light from my laptop contrasted to the harshness of the cold, a nice effect that would almost make us not dread the night. But we still do.

I searched through many posts and topics during the bitter night, many of them I found intriguing and humorous at most, but many of them, normal, as always. But this topic made me feel happy for once in my dull existence.

It was that good-natured Nintendawg's Thread, the "Chao Island Awards", as many would call it. Me? I'd call it a waste of time and a way to attention seek, but my opinion doesn't matter to any of you.

I saw myself being nominated for a few categories, many, I anticipated from the predictable users of the jolly and loud mouthed forum. But one, I did not.

Being nominated for "Best 2 year user" A nice sight to see at most, but my brain kept on asking the same persistent question again and again.

Why?

Why was I chosen to be one of the few for this? Why was I the user chosen for this category? Why did I not see this before?

I went to see Nintendawg in the Chatbox, the Chatbox was as normal as always, and by normal, I mean crazy, Renae was acting as if she wasn't still excited about her becoming a moderator, Blade, he was acting natural, drinking his Scotch like a boss, Riku was glued to the screen, trying to complete Final Fantasy, as I walked over to Nintendawg, I could see Fox_Boy trying to remove himself from a category. I sat down at a the bar stool next to the Chaobot. I ordered a Whiskey to pass the time until I could speak to Nintendawg.

He was as random as always, spouting mindless sentences that only a few of his friends would understand, I downed the last drop of my Whiskey and lit my cigarette, I walked up to him, and constantly pestered him to tell me who chose me for this category.

He knew, I know he knew, not only could I see it in his eyes, but I could tell by the way he was acting. He never told me, but I pleaded and asked him in every way I could until I asked for a very vague description, of this nominatee.

He, acting very unlike himself, told me quite a lot about this person, but still kept the true identity a secret, he told me, that it was a Male who nominated me.

I left the Chatbox, and stumbled the Forum Games and Chat, to make a topic in which I could find the culprit, and here I am now.

tl;dr: Who nominated me for "Best 2 Year Veteran"?

Also, anyone like my attempted for a "50's Detective"? I tried the best I could. (Even though I sort of went from being on a computer to real life...)

Alright i'll admit it...

I was complaining about getting nominated for that catagory, BUT ONLY CAUSE I SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN IN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE MAN. As for who nominated you...i can't say. It obviously has to be someone who talks to you, someone who has at least had fun while you were around, and it has to be a guy because Nintendawg said so.

I'm guessing Steel, but only because of because.

Although I don't know who nominated you I can say that you're a good person to have around on CI and you deserve to be in that category...I think so anyway. Also, nice "50's detective" style you have there. It made this topic a whole lot more interesting to read.xD

I lighted the Cigarette once again, almost like someone revived me from the grave, to another world hotter than hell and bitter than the whiskey they have down there.

But as I glanced up at the moon, I knew someone needed me for something, I threw the Cigarette away and walked into the cold.

Ah, the streets of CI, they're always a blast, the topics, the chat, heh, reminds me of my young self, going everywhere to post, just because of the pretty lights outside.

Most of the topics were boring and bland, the same generic trolling here and there and the uninteresting topics people were somehow still being drawn too.

I hated this place quite a lot, but I knew someone somewhere needed me, so I walked on through the cold, hands in my pockets, head to the floor.

The Chatbox, man I remember this from a while ago, this place had memories alright, all the way back to 2008, when I first joined.

I thought I'd enter for old time sake, went through the doors, said a salutations to the Chatbox, and entered the place that I've been to many times before.

I walked over to the table Chaos was on, he was playing Poker with some other users. He has a Scotch by his side, and a stern look on his face, but that changed when he saw me, I sat down and ordered another drink.

"Retro, why what a surprise, care to join us" He said with a smirk.
"Salutations Chaos" I said "How's the moderator position coming along?"
"It's been months, I don't even see it as a bother anymore, everyone accepted me as who I am, and I just generally thought of it as nothing." He replied.
"Heh, anyhow I might as well play, I mean I have nothing better to do." I said

We played for a while, talked, drank and smoked, and even when I got a Straight the face of the moderator behind the cards didn't even change.

"Well Chaos, I'll see you later, I have business somewhere" I said getting up off my chair
"Somewhere?" He said with a confused face
"I feel as if I've been revived, called up again to help someone, somewhere out there" I said
"Maybe you're going insane" He said jokingly
"Maybe...Well I'll see you man, I gotta go."
"See ya, man"

He waved at me and then shuffled the deck of cards in his hand, I didn't think he'd been leaving anytime soon.

As I walked out the door, a figure knocked into me.

"Hey" I said angrily "Watch it"
"Sorry" she said
"You better be" I said.

She ran through the door and disappeared from site. I continued to walk my merry way home in the cold when I noticed an old building, I looked at the words and they said "I must find the person who nominated me."

It was my old thread I made about 6 months ago, it was collecting dust in the bitter darkness and wasn't doing anything productive, just taking up space and being left to rot.

I reached for the dusty light switch, and turned it on. Man was this place a mess.

I cleaned up a little and changed the name, made it seem fresh and new again.

I even turned on the lights to attract people to the thread.

I grabbed the cold whiskey from the still working fridge, sat down on my chair, and put my feet up on my desk, waiting for the door to open to new and refreshing people and their posts.

If you didn't get it, buildings are threads, and when it dies down, it turns off it's light (which is the topic's name on the front of the building) and is forgotten about, as more buildings are built after it.
