The recent spam

Post by Drouge »

For those of you who read this in Fox Boy's topic, feel free to READ IT AGAIN.

There has been an excess of spam recently, and I, personally, feel that it's being caused by a misunderstanding of what's allowed post wise. Let me go over what we consider spam for you.
  1. Once people start talking back and forth on a topic, without taking it to PM's.
  2. Tiny, tiny posts/ Smiley only posts/ or useless off-topic junk.
  3. Posting in Spambot Topics (Yes, this is useless posting, no you shouldn't do it)
  4. Trying to moderate the forum yourself, or posting what should go in a report/PM.
That last one is the one I see the most.
The forum has a report for a reason, again I shall explain what that reason is.

We do not, I repeat DO NOT read every topic. I don't care what you've seen on other message boards, but then Moderating wouldn't be fun.

This is why you should use the report button, this way, we can see if a post we don't look at is breaking the rules, or needs to ble locked or anything like that. If we don't see it, we don't mod it.

Saying Mods lock this topic, is what should go into a report.
Saying this person [blank] to me should go into a PM to a Mod.

PM me if you didn't understand a word I just said, or it went all over your head.

Keep in mind we are going to crack down more on this stuff, now that there is a list of it
Spamming in one topic will get you a verbal warning, and continuation of this spam will net you a official warning. Got it?

Got it Mr. Drouge
Also, I've been seeing more and more people posting short posts
On a few topics, people post "..." all the time, and it bugs me.
And since I joined here, more of the users (New and Old) have been making shorter and shorter (Or stupider and stupider) posts each time.

And three warnings will, of course, result in a ban from Chao Island.
