Nintendo Wi-Fi and Pokemon Platinum

I have always wondered if there was a difference in Nintendo WiFi Connection or WiFi. Another thing is with Pokemon Platinum's Wi-Fi. What's the deal, do I actually have to go to NWFC setup and search the internet on how to set this up if I want to use NWFC? And what happens if you trade Pokemon over Wi-Fi, then don't have access to a router and the trade goes through? Does it not start until you are near a router, or does it go through anyway? I highly doubt it will go through, I'm just sayin'. Another part of the topic is "What do you people think about Platinum? Will it be the last Pokemon Game (when I say that, I mean the Pokemon games that you get to do this in. EX: Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Platinum, Diamond, Pearl, Fire Red, Leaf Green, Blue, Yellow, Crystal, Gold, Silver. Those are all of the ones I can think of)?"
