Favorite Pokémon, competitively?

Post by Midnite »

One's favorite Pokémon aesthetically will not always be their favorite to battle with. Maybe there's just that one MVP on your team, or that one you just love to use in a heated battle. As an attempt to get another subject circulating here, simply state your favorite Pokémon to use, in a competitive setting. If you want to get technical, you can even list your favorites of different tiers (OU, UU, LC, etc.) or specify the exact moveset of your favorite.

Generally, my favorite is Sigilyph, in the RU tier. The set I run (Cosmic Power / Psycho Shift / Roost / Stored Power) has it hold a Flame Orb, letting it abuse Magic Guard. Cosmic Power gives Stored Power 40 extra base power per boost, giving it a base 100 STAB to work with at +2. It definitely has its flaws (being Tricked a choice item hurts, as does being phazed, and Dark types wall it effectively), and it's not the most practical Pokémon out there, but I simply find Sigilyph unique and fun to use.

I'm a fan of Sceptile, that speed, bam! Although I can't be bothered to EV train, I actually managed to beat several EV trained teams with my sceptile! So yeah, underated.
PM me if you have any piece of writing that you want reviewed, I'll do my best to help you out!

While I don't do competitive battles because of how unorganized my team is at the moment, I suppose my favorite pokemon to use in the RU tier would be Kabutops, and in the NU tier, Rampardos. Mine are both Adamant nature, and Kabutops has Swift Swim, which is pretty nice. I also like to use Zoroark, although I'll probably trade mine off some day to someone else with B/W 1.

Rhyperior. I don't know why, but this thing absolutely dominates for me.
I have main character tendencies.
Keep ya head up; things look bad a lot, but you're worth it, I assure you.

I don't really battle anyone other than my brother, but I guess I'd have to say Roserade earns my vote. Grass Knot and Giga Drain, man.

I don't battle others much either, but Crobat is my favorite. I have one at lv. 100 and it rocks when I fight my friends.

Gallade.

Swords Dance+Close Combat+360 Attack Stat=Traumatized Pokemon

It could be faster though. It's defense is horrifying, but he holds out on his own just fine.
