As a good number of you know, I have posted videos of this game in the creative channel in the Discord server. I have decided to post updates here from now on once the Launch Trailer has been posted on the channel of the Discord server.

There is going to be more in the future with the Launch Trailer added here later today.

Again, this is NOT a community project, so please do not request anything. HOWEVER, there are going to be times where I ask of things involving whether I need to nerf and/or buff Chao in anyway necessary.

I am going to post exclusive content of the game on my Twitter in the future, so consider dropping a follow if you're interested, but please understand that this game isn't all that I do, so it can take a while for things to be updated. The game started in February 2020 and took almost a year to finish Wave 1. If I can get more motivation from people interested in the game and play it, I can get this game's updates done quicker in the future!

Looking good so far! Wasn't expecting to see a fighting fan game for the chao garden at all!
I honestly didn't look at it much in the creative channel on the discord until recently and was surprised. Keep it up :D

-Update!-

In Version 2.0, when Wave 2 is released:
Simesen's Up Special, Financial Upper, will cost 2 stocks instead of 1 to avoid an overpowered combo of a lot of Primary Juggles. The amount should be half in 2.0.
The BLOCK CANCEL! text when used as Flamebo should have the text aligned correctly like the rest of the Chao.

I do have a small thing to do in order to continue with what I have so far. Chao #8, the first Chao of Wave 2, is almost complete! Bare in mind, that even though each wave will have 7 Chao, the amount of stages vary each wave. We can only have up to 50 stages, and Wave 1 almost took half of the slots. I am going to confirm that there are new stages in V2.0 - but how many there are will be kept secret.

Lastly, as long as I'm motivated, I can work on this a lot more AND get this out sooner. I'll a lot of support for this to work.

While I wait for stuff to be done, I may make a combo video in the future.

Alright, here's another update:

Involving the blockade, I'm still doing what I can. As for what I said in the Discord, I said there will be 2 videos. One has been posted, but the other may not happen. I'm dealing with quite a lot, and so, it's going to be tough to arrange. However, I am doing some stuff that should be easy to work with as I wait for the opportunity. I really don't want to give out a potential release date of the next trailer, but do stay tuned, nonetheless!

Alright, here's the next update:

The development had to be put on hold because of the blockade. It's very tough to get the things I need and at this time, I can't do anything until the right opportunity comes by. This was to be expected, but I'm hoping that the delay isn't going to be long. Stay tuned.

Another update is here involving about content shared. I've decided to continue in sharing big updates in the creative channel on the Discord server and here so that people who want to see the updates will have a fair chance. However, minor updates are strictly going to be posted here.

That's not the only update I have, though! A combo counter has been added! No footage of it yet, but I do consider sharing it in the future, but it's only a possibility.

Here's an additional update!

In Version 2.0, Volcano's Meter Charge will be from gaining 2 stocks to gaining 3! This makes it more fair for any Volcano mains.

Also, I may adjust aerial neutrals to make it easier for people to save meter and not have so many Primary Juggles do so much damage. That was why certain Specials costed 2 stocks to Chaos Cancel to easily do Primary Juggles. It'll be tough, but I'll manage.

Also, involving the next trailer, do remember that Wave 2 (Version 2.0) will only be released once all 7 Chao of the wave have been announced. Doing releases every time a trailer is out can break motivation for me a lot sooner. I can't let that happen. And I'm pretty sure you guys have this one question: When will the next trailer be revealed? You'll know soon... You'll know when it... "connects".

Flamebo
  • Aerial normals have been nerfed - Damage 3 -> 2
  • Neutral Special: Flaming Fist has been nerfed - Damage 8 -> 7
  • Neutral Special: Flaming Fist can now only be Chaos Cancelled near the end of the move
  • All Specials that have a Chaos Cancel cost of 2 stocks now only cost 1
Lifesky
  • Aerial normals have been nerfed - Damage 3 -> 1
  • Neutral Special: Purple Blast has been fixed involving use on ground
  • Forward Special: Flight comes out earlier
  • Down Special: Spin Kick can now be used in air and follows to motion of Lifesky instead of a fixed motion
  • Up Special: Aerial Combination keeps Livesky still in place at startup
  • Up Special: Aerial Combination can now be Chaos Cancelled and can cancel into any Chaos Drive at anytime of the second part of the move
  • When hitting an airborne Chao with Up Special: Aerial Combination, the Chao's hit junction no longer is Upper+. It has been switched to the Standard Upper junction
  • All Specials that have a Chaos Cancel cost of 2 stocks now only cost 1
Vespern
  • Aerial normals have been nerfed - Damage 3 -> 2

Alright, I know it's been a while, but here's an update.

I'll return to develop more updates on the game in June. As for what's planned now, I'd like to have a Q&A. If you have any questions about the game, you may reply on this topic and I'll make a video answering those questions (as long as they are reasonable).

Alright, I'll take the Q&A as a no then.

Next update: I made a new stage and I've decided to announce how many stages will be added in Version 2.0.
So far, three new stages were revealed. In order of development, there were Desert of Evolution, Icicle Arc, and Hang Castle. There are still 3 other stages that have not been revealed yet - meaning that there are 6 new stages in total. I know that Version 1.0 feature 18 stages, however that's for the sake of having a good expansion of stages to play on so it won't be so limited in stage selection. Waves in the future may have an average of 5 stages. With that, I'm here to confirm that the total amount of stages for Exedra Chao: Combat will be the limit of stages that the program I use can have per project - 50 stages.

As for the Chao, I'm also going to announce the maximum amount that the program can handle. Yes, I'm planning for the maximum on that too - being 49 Chao. That means there will be 7 Waves with 7 Chao each.

For stages, I'm still planning on which ones I'll pick for the game. As for the Chao, all 49 have been decided already and what order they will appear.

For more fun with ending combos, all Level 3 Chaos Drives only cost 5 meter stocks instead of 7 (except Volcano's which now costs 6)!

In late May or early June, I'll get the Decline gameplay video up on YouTube and later in 2022 will be Sliveer's.
