more playable Cream! I'm tired of her just being a background/support character. The last time I remember Cream being playable was in The Dark Brotherhood, and she was only a support healer.

Definitely more Cream. She's part of the main cast, 'the big eight', she needs to get more screen time. Look at how big her role was in Sonic X and the games released in that era. It's especially disconcerting that her role has arguably been reduced to being less important that Blaze and Silver- who, respectively, live in another dimension and in the furture, which means that whenever the main cast interacts with them they have to justify traveling between whole worlds! Cream not only lives in the same world as Sonic, but is Amy's best friend and repeated team mate in acts of heroism. Surely it makes more sense to have her appear with Sonic and company than characters whose social lives are completely detached from the primary setting? Heck, Cream's biggest role was in Blaze's introduction, why don't they interact more if Blaze keeps returning to Sonic's world?

And then there's Omega. While I would love to see Gamma return, the neglect his brother Omega has suffered is pretty terrible, and there is very little excuse for it! Omega is a gorgeous machine of destruction and mayhem, a veritable fountain of quirky robot humor, one B.A.M.F. among B.A.M.F.s, yet he is SOOOOOOOO severely underutilized in the franchise it's heart breaking! Omega deserves to appear alongside the other members of Team Dark more often, and indeed he deserves an opportunity to stand on his own as a character like other members of the cast can. I dearly hope Omega will get an improved role in future games at some point....

... Maybe if the series takes a turn back towards multiple character gameplay instead of focusing exclusively on Sonic like recent titles have been doing? This is essentially the reason Omega and Cream appeared in Sonic Chronnicles: The Dark Brotherhood. Perhaps if another RPG or a fighting game were created, these two would get expanded roles that show how much potential their characters really have.

Playable Tails with the level of Confidence and Independence seen at the end of SA1, during SA2, and in Tails' Adventures, perhaps with some of his gadgeteer mastery bleeding over into gameplay.

Plyable Knuckles without the gullibility and showing off some of the proud warrior heritage.

Playable Amy acting as a herorine in her own right and showing just as much prowess as the Triple Threat. Plus, instead of acting like a stalker, she's trying to prove herself worthy of running along sid the blue blur.

Playable Cream, serving as the voice of reason to Sonic's five man band, often suggesting the non-violent approach, but not hesitation to bring furious Chao Death down upon her enemies when necessary.

And speaking of Sonic's five man band:

Sonic serves the role of hero.
Tails and Knuckles share the role of Lancer(tails being closer to the side-kick variety, Knuckles being closer to the rival variety)
Tails and Cream share the Smart Guy role(tails more on the technology side, Cream more on the common sense/voice of reason side)
Amy and Knuckles share the tough guy position.
Amy and Cream share the Chick position(Amy more in the love interest/girl power role, Cream more in the cute and frilly snese).

Playable Shadow with characterization as seen in Sonic Battle. Not truely a part of Sonic's crew, but allies himself with Sonic more often than he outright opposeds the Blue Blur.

Gemerl, ideally with Emerl's personality(possibly adding a back story that Gemerl wasn't just inspired by Emerl's design, but actually incorporated parts Eggman salvaged from Emerl's remains including the originals AI and memory modules and Tails's reprogramming at the end of Sadv3 allow the original Emerl's personality to re-establish dominance over Eggman's reprogramming). Serves primarily as Cream's bodyguard and sort of a sixth Ranger to Sonic's group.

Would it be weird and defiant of me to say Sally? I always thought she deserved to be in a game. I have a feeling since she has no physical prowess her gameplay'd make things more interesting. I dunno though.

^As completely unlikely as it is to ever happen, an Archie-verse game could be quite interesting. Sally would be right at home in a stealth ops style game.

In fact, I think there was a cancelled game back in the day based on SatAM and had Sally as a playable character, but I don't know if even a plyable beta was ever unearthed.

X-treme shifted gears to a SEGA only cast before the real work began, and other than a few obscure examples the games haven't appropriated any elements from Western Sonic media in a while. Sonic Chronnicles: The Dark Brotherhood was the most recent case, and even then it mostly stuck to creating parallels to the Archie-verse rather than introducing Archie/SatAM characters.

Wasn't there a demo about an old SATAM game leaked recently? I think that's the closest we ever got.

Anyways, definitely more cream and omega. Those are probably the two most popular characters that don't really see the limelight that often.

Metal Sonic should comeback as the main villain again. The STH 4 saga didn't do him any good. I want him to comeback as an all out villain. Super Forms will not be an answer. I would like it if it was a One on One battle between the Hedgehog and it's counter part. Like the old and classic Sonic CD but better!

the sad part is, unless they just eschew using any non-satam based characters, that stealthy thing won't work for Sally. I thought of that.. But then I thought of Rogue and Espio who, based on their abilities, would far outclass her in the stealth department making her presence futile. I know there's somewhere she could fit though. I just haven't figured out where or doing what.

Sorta. There's this, which indicates plans for a SatAM inspired game (for the Genesis) go all the way back to the production stages of the show itself, but this didn't get very far either even when compared to Sonic X-treme's ditched concepts.

Sonic.exe would be a cool character to have.

His intense back story and beautiful character design seriously make me wonder why SEGA hasn't put him in more games.

Also Scourge would be a neat addition to see, but seeing as he's Archie I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah though, an archie inspired game seems like a no brainer to make. The amount of stuff that happens in it is ridiculous, and would open up a whole new world that SEGA could expand upon without having to create new useless enemies, new useless characters, or new useless nathan drake inspired clothing.

I'd also like to see Amy go super some time. She's the only Hedgehog that hasn't.

Metal Sonic and those Mecha Knuckleses from Sonic Advance too. I just really like the concept.

While the Babylon Rogues haven't really vanished from the series (not yet at least), I'd like to see them get an expanded role rather than the limited appearances they've made so far. Maybe they could appear as villains in a flagship title like whatever sequel SEGA makes to Lost World? While the Rogues aren't really evil exactly they have plenty of incentive to do antagonistic things.

Shadow the Hedgehog.

Now, I don't want Shadow just because he is "2 cool 4 school," I want him back because I like his story. There is still plenty left that SEGA could go off of. My only conditions for his gameplay: no chaos gauges from Shadow the Hedgehog, and no vehicle riding (Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06).

(On a side note, SEGA needs to suck it up and allow for bigger, better, and deeper stories again, like in the Adventure series.)

Part of the reason SEGA has been moving away from SA-style storytelling is because the recent success they've had with games like Sonic Colors, Generations, and Lost World, which adopt a lighter storyline and focus more on gameplay. Meanwhile Sonic Next Gen and the other games released in that era that did have serious writing didn't do so well, and SEGA is less prompt to imitate them, though I think eventually the franchise will start to swing back around to that direction.

If we get a return to significant multi-character gameplay, Shadow would be the natural choice for having major involvement in the plot, whether the story is really about him or not.

Yeah, but the difference between Sonic 06's story and the Adventure games' stories is that (a lot of) people actually liked the stories from the Adventure games. I couldn't have cared less about any story in Sonic 06.
