However, as an easter egg they put a ring where big would regularly be from the dreamcast and some of those rings are unreachable meaning that this shouldn't work for ALL levels.

Unless it's an extra ring that doesn't count.

i dont think so...have you tried collecting rings in City Escape? Its bloody hell hard to get them

Considering that the perfect bonus in the classic Sonic games was quite significant, it would not surprise me if such a feature exists.

That said, even on stages where this is possible, I would imagine it would still be easier to get an A-rank the normal way. Besides, this would not work for Mission 2 or 4, and probably not Mission 3, and since 4 is essentially the same as Mission 1, you still need to get an A-rank the old-fashioned way.

Still, collecting all of the rings in missions 1 and 5, if possible, would be a good extra challenge for those who already have 180 emblems.

It should be easier with Knuckles and Rouge, they can dig up coins.

Though having just a few rings and getting to the end super fast will result in an A usually too.

Depends on the mission. I've gotten all rings in City Escape.

For like, Crazy Gadget, I just killed every single enemy (Light attacking all those Mini-Artificial Chaos) had 0 rings, got 0 time bonus, still got an A rank.

There are a few ways or combenations of ways to get a score that can A rank if getting all the rings isn't a possibility for you. But it is definetly true. Of course this only works for Mission 1, 4, and 5. It doesn't work for 2 obviously since your rank is how fast you can collect 100 rings, and it doesn't work for 3 since it's how fast you find the Lost Chao. 1, 4, and 5 count since they involve you going through the whole level to the Goal Ring, where your rank is determined by final score (or an A rank if you get all the rings). 1 being Normal, 4 being Normal with a Time Limit, and 5 being Hard Mode.

Is there any real point in doing this? If you know where every single ring is in a level, then you would have had to played the level enough to be good enough to get an A anyway.

Like I said, this sounds more like a challenge for the masters rather than a viable way of obtaining the A-rank emblems.

Also, while it might technically work for Mission 4, I would be highly surprised if there are any stages were you could collect all of the rings without exceeding the time limit. That said, if you already have a perfect ring run, what better way to challenge yourself than to see how fast you can complete a perfect ring run.

All this talk makes me want to pull up the Sonic Center's ring attack statistics.

I think the best strategy for Mission 4 is to kill everything in your path that doesn't take long, then go as fast as you can. Ring bonus isn't that much anyway.

All as fast as I can
B rank
