More Pronounced Animal Parts

Through my time in the chao gardens I couldn't help but notice that once a chao evolves, any animal parts it had became more pronounced. They would seem larger, or sometimes with a different color (a skunk tail would turn pink/red with evolution). I couldn't find anything about this on the site, is there anyone else who has noticed this? I can try and grab some pictures if needed.

Yes. I am pretty sure that it is common knowledge that animal parts change qualities on baby chao to adult chao. Dragon wings go from pink to purple. Condor head piece goes from brown to green. Squirrel tail becomes very big and poofy. I didn't know that this was not mentioned on the main site, but I have always thought it was pretty apparent and well known.

I thought as much, though in retrospect it seems sort of silly of me to ask. It just seemed odd that I couldn't find something like that on the site (though it's common knowledge). Thank you for the reply!

Well, I have nothing better to do, I think I'm going to try and find how each part changes. (Fusion's editor should help). I'll get started on the Sonic Adventure 2 animal parts.

I have Sonic Adventure DX as well, so perhaps I'll do those later.

There are no giant changes. They change color and size, but never would they change large enough to make extreme note of it, nor are there any parts exclusive to adults/children. Detailing the changes would be interesting, but I would think far from crucial. Lunar, good luck, I think it will be interesting.

Okay, so running a few tests, I have made a slightly haphazard list of the changes with animal parts.

All testing was done with the Steam version of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, with identical neutral normal-colored chao (the only difference was that one was evolved).

Penguin:
Arms - Color turns from blue to violet.
Forehead - Colors change to a "fiery" theme (green, orange, red).
Legs - Only a size increase.

Seal:
Arms/Tail - Color turns from light blue to violet.

Otter:
Arms/Ears/Legs/Tail/Face - Colors darken slightly (except for whiskers).

Peacock:
Forehead - Only a size increase.
Legs - Colors turn from yellow/orange to blue/violet.
Tail - Colors darken.
Wings - Only a size increase.

Parrot:
Forehead/Tail/Wings - Only a size increase.
Legs - Colors turn from blue/green to blue/violet.

Condor:
Ears - Color turns from light brown to light green.
Legs - Colors darken.
Tail/Wings - Colors turn slightly redder.

Rabbit:
Arms/Ears/Legs/Tail - Colors turn from light pink/pink to violet/yellow.

Cheetah:
Arms/Ears/Legs/Tail - Yellow color darkens, brown color reddens, and claw colors turn from green to blue.

Warthog:
Arms/Ears/Legs/Tail - Colors redden slightly.
Face - Tusks thicken slightly.

Bear:
Arms/Legs - Purple color darkens and a red patch appears. The white areas turn bluish, and the claws turn from yellow to green.
Ears - Only a size increase.

Tiger:
Arms/Ears/Legs/Tail - Orange color reddens slightly, stripes turn more "zig-zagged" and blue colored, and claws turn from brown to blue.

Gorilla:
Arms/Forehead/Legs - Color changes from dark blue to brown and the eyebrows become thicker.
Ears - Only a size increase.

Skunk:
Arms/Legs - Color changes from brown to pinkish red.
Forehead - Shape curves down a bit more and color changes from brown to pinkish red.
Tail - Fur pattern changes and color changes from brown to pinkish red.

Sheep:
Arms/Legs/Tail - Color changes from pink to yellow.
Horns - Color pattern changes from pink/violet to yellow/orange.

Raccoon:
Arms/Ears/Legs - Color lightens slightly (well that's different!)

Half Fish:
Ball (special) - Flame increases in size.

Skeleton Dog:
N/A (Skeleton Dog removes parts).

Bat:
N/A (Bat removes feet and wings).

Dragon:
Arms/Legs/Tail/Wings - Color changes from pink to purple and claw color changes from green to yellow.
Ears - Only a size increase.
Horns - Horns point outward more.

Unicorn:
Arms/Legs - Color changes from white to light blue, and the tufts of hair change in color from pink to purple.
Ears - Shape becomes more pointed at the tip and the color darkens slightly.
Forehead - Color changes from pink to violet and the horn changes from yellow to green.
Tail - Color changes from pink to violet.

Phoenix:
Forehead - There is a slight increase in the amount of feathers.
Legs - Talon color reddens slightly.
Tail - Feather count increases from 3 to 5.
Wings - Only a size increase.

From what I have gathered alignment does not change appearance of animal parts whatsoever. I may or may not gather info on Sonic Adventure DX (I have the Steam version, but I'm lazy).

You are correct in that alignment to hero-dark, or to any stat, in no way changes the parts. There are child and adult animal parts, that is all. And yeah, the animals in SA change in similar fashions to those in SA2. The most memorable for me is the dear antlers, which grow quite a bit.

That may be correct, I'm not entirely sure. Although I think that the whiskers are still there, but very small.

I am pretty sure they exist, but are very small, and therefore close to unnoticeable. I am pretty sure that there is no part exclusive to either age.
