What is this strange, new game?
The premise is simple. Each competitor must sign up below, and create/join a team. Then for each race, a small eight question quiz will be sent to all competitors, who will have the next few days to fill in their answers and PM them back to me. These questions will vary: some will be fact related, some guess based, some to do with providing interesting facts and others completely random. Once all of this has been collected in, the results will determine the outcome of a race situation that I will detail in basic story style, with various points being awarded to various positions. The idea is to have a little fun, test your knowledge and guessing skills, and also make somewhat of an interesting ongoing competition.
There may also be thinks like press conferences with winning competitors and the likes. There will be ten races in the season, and whichever solo driver has the most points at the end wins the individual championship! Similarly, the team (who do compete separately) with the most points at the end wins the team championship! Each of the ten "races" will have a different theme, for example "Sports", or "Food".
So what's in this quiz then?
For those of you who may be worried about how easy it is to cheat through wiki's to get answers, fear not. The question's will be split like this:
~1 and 2: Fact questions: Questions with a definitive factual answer.
~3 and 4: Opinion questions: You must back up an opinion on a question (eg: Who would win in a fight, How to escape something, or a more serious question). The better the answer you give and how well you reason it in my opinion will earn you more points here.
~5 and 6: Obscurity questions: These questions will always be something like "tell me something interesting about yourself," or "give me a fact about somethingorother". The more interesting the fact you give me the more points you get.
~7 and 8: Guesswork questions: So something that none of you will know for sure. Whoever gets the closest answers to the truth get the most points.
Rules and guidance~
1. No consolidating with any other people, including your teammate. Your team mate, like team mates in actual motor racing, only serve to create a joint posts tally for the team championship.
2. Be nice and polite to other competitors, and never give up.
If I find people to break these rules then they will be given points penalties and, if it continues, they will eventually be banned from the competition.
Now some facts about how the game works:
1. If you tie on points with another competitor, a dice roll will decide who does the better of the two.
2. As in Motorsport, there will be crashes and technical failures happen rarely but randomly to different people regardless of their overall score, once again decided at random. Don't worry though, there will most likely be only one or two per race.
3. When the questions have been given out, you will have three days to reply or otherwise you will crash in the race.
The scoring works as follows:
1st: 20pts
2nd: 15pts
3rd: 12pts
4th: 10pts
5th: 8pts
6th: 6pts
7th: 4pts
8th: 3pts
9th: 2pts
10th: 1pt
All others: 0pts
Great! How do I join?
That's simple, my friend! All you have to do initially is say that you want to join in the comments. When you find someone else who is interested who you want to be in team with, you must agree to join them and fill out one of these forms:
Team Name:
Team Colour Scheme:
Team Members:
There can be up to three drivers in a team. If people don't get into teams then I'll pair them together later. If you want you could also specify what your car looks like/how you want me to write you.
Race Calander:
News!
I will post the first race's questions here on probably on Tuesday, then participants will have time to send me their answers before the end of Friday. You should start organising teams now if you have anything specific in mind, because otherwise I'll start grouping together people when the questions are published. The first race will be the Nintendo GP!
