Chao World Extended is a mod for the Chao Garden in Sonic Adventure 2 that can change the system of the Chao Garden depending on what you choose. Chao World Extended also brings back unused content and adds a variety of ways to get Jewel Chao and Special Chao without the use of Chao Editor.
You can also edit the difficulty if you're looking to spice things up!


The Mod has been Moved to Gamebanana!
This will be the Place to Download and Check any info about the mod itself!

Chao World Extended also have it own Chao island Wiki Page!
This is probably the Best place to get any single details of the Mod, knowing which feature do what, and how to use it.
However, unlike Gamebanana, the Wiki can be outdated if a new version recently release, but don't worry! it will take time to update~

This IS pretty neat! :D
As you can see, I'm trying to work on a minecraft texture mod, the only problem is that the leaves and flora refuse to stay alpha-channeled, making the area around them black. Any ideas on what I can do to fix that? :thinking:

i don't know what do you use for edit texture/image but i made a tutorial about texture here
if you use photoshop or someting you can acces to "channels", try to check the alpha channel if he's here or not
if not, creat and edit it, black = invisible, white = visible :blink:

Did you try to disable Mipmaps ? (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=44337)
sometime mipmaps make the alpha texture problem for some reason :chaoangry:

Now this is some interesting stuff! I'll load it up and give it a whirl, see what happens.

I'm thinking - can you make it so that Chao might cry when they trip over or try to swim when they can't or chance an encounter with jack-in-the-box or possibly coming out worse in a karate match?
Come to think of it, is it possible to code them to tear up in your arms when their cry meter is up? Possibly tear up in the karate arena?


(I'm a tear vampire.)


Possibly get the exclusive animations into the gardens somehow...?

Or is that being too extravagant?

Although I don't have SA2 HD, still, much applause to.
I am very curious on the 3rd/"Mega" evolution.

i guess i can't for chao cry after drown (or jack-in-the-box) cause i don't the value animation (or that don't exist)

for karate... it's possible, and like the animation, i need to find the value.. and i know this one exist... so it's possible ! i guess :blink:

Do you think it would be possible to add new, harder races? I don't even know where to look for the files that load up specific chao and levels for each race, but in theory we should be able to at least change the parameters, and at most add new chao in. It would go really well with your "overlevelling" mod, as races are pretty easy to complete.
Is there a problem with the chao flying off stage/disappearing during the race? I remember my hacked chao, at high enough levels, would go zooming out of the skybox when it jumped off a ledge.

No, the game stop the stats at 4000.. so you're chao can't break the race

And... here's a second thing: when it said that the Better Chao World mod would "add more object for hero and dark garden", I thought it meant it'd place the rocking horse, television and/or radio in all of them - but no, it says here. "edit the object placement". But... putting all the toys in all the gardens is possible, right...?

You might need to take some online classes/tutorials on how to HEX edit and use unpacking tools.

Chao World Extended v2 coming soon with :

Mods :
- HD chao texture is separate with "Better" Chao World
- FrankT mods is added to the mod list

Codes :
- Update : Hungry's difficult, now the chao cry before lose the hapiness
- New : More chao sick, your chao is sick whatever your doing wrong with him.. like stomach if you give too many fruit and force him to eat
- New : More than 99lvl, that delete the limit level.. you can get 4000 at all, use this for the futur code !
- New : Mega/Monster evolution (need more than 99lvl), your chao 2nd evolution is on Mega when the stats get 4000 point :

- New : Medal chao make jewel chao, if your chao have garnet medal, he can make garnet jewel chao or Ruby Chao !
beginner medal to back the chao mate normal
Diamond medal make moon chao or pearl chao
challenge medal to make ALL jewel/texture chao randomly

- New : More and random chao face, simple... you chao have many face than the actual game when he born

- New : Egg Colors Advanced, The egg have the color of the chao so you can have two-tone chao egg colors !

-New : Normal chao can make chao color, when your normal chao color is on 2nd evolution.. he can make the chao of his own color, so you can have transparent chao if you enabled Mega/Monster evolution code
because for unknow reason.. normal chao are transparent when he's "over evo"
