I love the period in the title though, it implies that this is a formal discussion but really it just fell apart immediately into a game of "whoever gets mad first loses".

Isn't that every formal discussion?

^Not every formal discussion, but knowing when and how to bow out gracefully and being mature enough to actually do so upon losing a debate is probably the hardest part of becoming a master debater.

Actually, in general, losing with dignity is a hard skill to develop for a participant in just about any competitive endeavor.

Since the last time I posted here, I've done more research and have advanced the way I look at this quite a bit.

I identify as a liberal feminist, and I think equality between the sexes in all places would be dandy. I agree that everyone should be equal - regarding that, I identify as an egalitarian. I cannot, however, agree that a person's views being discriminatory towards those with white skin or who identify as male should count as any less than racism or sexism. It's wrong to band together an entire group based on something like that and to put them all down because of it, no matter who you're aiming it at.

Women are definitely worse off in society, and though it may not be as bad as in places such as the middle east by a long shot, it is still an issue that should be addressed. There are jobs where they don't get paid as much, and there are still leanings for certain types of jobs by gender (like how women usually work around in nurseries and a lot of primary school teachers are women, and how a lot of manual labour jobs are primarily done by men) that could be evened out without much issue to society itself, to name a couple of economic examples. The latter isn't necessarily a women-only problem, but it falls under the umbrella
due to being a gender issue that affects women in some way.

Overall, I could say a lot more, but I don't feel as strongly about it as I used to. Feel free to debate if you feel I'm wrong, I don't mind.

just be nice to people please, instead of being mean to people you don't even know because of their race/sex/etc.
this seems to be a thing people have not grasped yet for some reason

My views on feminism are complicated. I don't object to the idea of male and female equality (relatively few people with English as a first language do), but I don't agree with the mainstream feminist movement's vision of what that means or how it should be accomplished. I admire many figures in the movement but don't feel that the social activists of yesterday would approve of the goals of modern civil rights activists, or with the way that their names are invoked in present day discourse.

Not that I feel feminism has 'gone astray' or lost sight of its original purpose. More like it has always had elements that aren't palatable. In college I penned a short essay criticizing Elizabeth Cady Stanton and her views on patriarchy and organized religion, views still prevalent within feminism. My position hasn't really changed; I maintain that patriarchy and religion, in their best state, have always been more beneficial to women than harmful, and that a society that values the difference between male and female is more viable than one that does not.

I don't like the shape of popular feminism or the direction it is going. Whether or not they dislike men isn't my beef though, it's more fundamental than that; much of the underlying philosophy is unacceptable to me. I can't really see myself as being a feminist.

Well, I don't agree with modern feminism, but I do feel everyone should be equal, no matter what. unless ur a white cishet male scum (◕‿◕✿)

I just don't see how trying to belittle someone for the way they were born and in no way can control just because they "hold more power" furthers your movement. If you wanna be accepted and treated equally, do the same for others.

Gotta admit, that post pretty much destroyed feminism, as a movement.

Botulism is also what they use in Botox treatments(Botox being a contraction of botulism toxin). Basically, that procedure, as I understand it, achieves a more youthful looking face through the selective poisoning of facial muscles to paralyze them. On a tangential point, Warfarin, a commonly prescribed blood thinner is rat poison, and while the human body is 70% water and water is a vital nutrient, I can think of at least 3 ways water can kill you(drowning, crushing, and water intoxication).
