This page lists all of the offsets related to the hats in a chao garden.

Hat type

A value representing the specific type of the hat. See the SADXHat enum or SA2BHat enum (depending on the game) for more information.
Note that when this hat slot is empty, the second byte will have a value of 0xFF.

Chao garden

A value representing the chao garden that the hat currently resides in. See the SADXChaoGarden enum or SA2BChaoGarden enum (depending on the game) for more information.
