Common Abbreviations

You might see a lot of abbreviations and acnoryms mentioned accross the website. The majority of these are common in the Sonic and Chao community and I will list a few here that you may come across:

SA or SA1:Sonic Adventure - usually refers to the original Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast. Dreamcast specific is usually labelled as SA1DC. SA could also be used to refer to Sonic Advance on other websites!
SADX:Sonic Adventure DX (Directors Cut) - refers to all platforms. Only the Dreamcast version is non-DX.
SA2:Sonic Adventure 2 - generally applied to all versions of the game including Dreamcast. Dreamcast specific is usually labelled as SA2DC.
SA2B:Sonic Adventure 2 Battle - mostly used interchangably with SA2, but SA2B is usually used when referring to the Gamecube version specifically.
SAdv or SADV:Sonic Advance - which you may see abbreviated at SA outside of this website.
DC:Sega Dreamcast versions of the game.
GC:Nintendo Gamecube versions of the game.
Modern:Refers to the non-Dreamcast Chao system - which was greatly updated.
VMU:Visual Memory Unit, the Dreamcast memory card which could be used to play Chao Adventure 1 and 2.
CA / CA2:Chao Adventure 1 and Chao Adventure 2 respectively.
MT / TT:Mono-tone and Two-tone Chao colour types.
CWE:Chao World Extended, a popular mod for the PC version of Sonic Adventure 2.
FCE:Fusion’s Chao Editor, a popular tool for editing Chao for the PC version of Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Adventure 2.
KCE:Krzys2’s Chao Editor, a newer tool for editing Chao compatible with the CWE mod for the PC version of Sonic Adventure 2.
