The Chao Kindergarten is a location in the Chao World. It is accessed through the Chao Lobby, behind the player when they arrive through the teleporter. The Kindergarten is available from the first time you access Chao World in Sonic Adventure 2, and after you have hatched a Chao in the GC engine games.

Description
The Kindergarten has several important rooms within it, each with important functions for raising your Chao, including learning more about Chao, keeping your Chao healthy, and naming your Chao. You may take one Chao to the Kindergarten at a time, by simply picking them up, leaving the garden and going into the Kindergarten doorway.
Bulletin board
The chao bulletin board contains a message for players of the chao garden. It has a different message in each game. The SA2DC board directed the player to the BBS where chao tips can be shared and discussed. It required an internet connection and was accessed through the dreamcast browser. The SA2B versions of the game contain a similar hint in the form of directing the user to a lobby.

Rooms
The Chao Kindergarten has a large central lobby, with a bulletin board and several different colored doors leading to different rooms, each with a specific purpose.
Classroom
The Chao Classroom's primary function is to leave chao to learn various ways of playing the in garden, such as by singing, drawing, dancing or playing an instrument.
Principal's Room
The Chao Principle is effectively a tutorial for beginners learning about chao.
Health Center
The Health Center is where the Chao can be checked for any illnesses, as well as for a more indepth view of it's stats and achievements.
Fortune-Telling House
The Fortune-Telling House is used for naming your chao. This name can be random, or you may name your chao yourself.
Black Market
The Black Market is used to buy various items for the garden, such as a new chao egg, special fruit, seeds or hats for your chao.
Exit
The Exit back to the Chao World.
