Bright Chao are a result of a porting glitch made by SEGA in the HD version of Sonic Adventure 2, for Xbox, Playstation and PC platforms. They appear visually different instead of Shiny Two-tone Chao, consisting of bright colours. They still behave genetically as a Shiny Two-tone, such as carrying the Shiny gene.
This glitch can be fixed using either Exant's standalone Bright Fix mod, or using Chao World Extended.
Example
Pictured above, on the left is a bright Chao and on the right, a regular Shiny Two-tone chao. The main colour of the bright Chao appears as a bright white.
Trivia
- Bright Chao with the dark alignment retain most of their details compared to Hero and Neutral Chao which details tend to be 'washed out'.
- They appear correctly on Sonic Adventure DX when copied over using external programs.
