The Chao Lobby is where you are placed when you first enter Chao World. In the center is a teleporter pad which you can use to exit the lobby and by extension, exit Chao World.

Rooms

When you first enter the Chao Lobby, only two rooms will be available. To unlock the Hero and Dark Gardens, you will need to raise a Hero and Dark Chao respectively.

This is the first garden available, and is also referred to as the "Neutral Garden". The entrance to this room is directly ahead of you when you first enter the Chao Lobby.

The Kindergarten is the other area available from the start of the game. This door is located opposite the Chao Garden door (so it will be behind you when you first arrive) and will lead you outside to another building. The Kindergarten is where you can find the Classroom, Health Center, Principal's Office, and in the GameCube Engine games; the Black Market.

Location

Whereas the Chao Gardens in Sonic Adventure 1/DX were located within the adventure stages, the gardens here seem to be in a separate dimension all-together. The lobby seems to exist completely in it's own space, and the doors warp to to the relevant locations (of which they are unknown also).

The Chao Lobby is now accessed via collecting a Chao Key from a Chao Container in an action stage for accessing Chao World. It is also accessed from the Stage Select screen once the player has visited the Chao World for the first time via the action stage Chao key.

Music

For the Dreamcast, the lobby music can be heard below.

This was changed for the GameCube game (and all following GameCube Engine games) to use the Race Stadium music from the Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure 1.

  • Upon entering Chao World on the Dreamcast, Omochao will fly around the Chao Lobby and say "Welcome to Chao World!" before disappearing after a while. This does not happen on any other version.
  • With the Gamecube Engine, when you enter the different rooms, the game displays a title graphic to show which room you are in. On the Dreamcast version, no titles are displayed. This includes a title for "Chao Lobby".
  • When leaving the Chao Lobby via the teleportation pad, the sound that will play is the...
