The Chao Transporter is a place where you can send, receive or release your Chao. It is located in a corner of the Chao Gardens, generally resembling the handheld system that can be transferred to. Using the Chao Transporter, you send a Chao over to a Sega Dreamcast VMU (DC) or a Game Boy Advance (GC).
In the Dreamcast Games
Sonic Adventure 1
The dreamcast version of SA1's transporter is unique in that it sends the chao to the VMU where one can play the Chao Adventure minigame. Unlike other games, the Chao is manually placed on top of the grate rather than just held while pressing the button.
Below is the VMU menu selection from the game.
Sonic Adventure 2 Dreamcast
A grid will appear to give you the options to transfer your Chao to or from the Visual Memory Unit. Transferring your Chao to the VMU will allow you to play Chao Adventure 2. Once the transfer process is complete, you will pick up right where you left off from the Chao Garden.
