Chao World is the name given to the world of Chao in the Sonic Adventure 2 series. In the first Sonic Adventure, the Chao Gardens were simply part of the Adventure Stages.

How to get there
To first enter Chao World in Sonic Adventure 2, you will need to find the Chao Key in any of the action stages. The Chao Key is located in the first of three Chao Containers you can find within the levels. Once you collect this key, you will be warped to the Chao Lobby of Chao World after completing the level.
After you have visited Chao World for the first time, it will be unlocked for you to visit any time from the Level Select screen (without having to collect the Chao Key).
Location
As you can see on the SA2 World Map (Level Select screen), Chao World is located in the north-west of the map, just outside of the main city. Whether this is a physical location, or a Warp Hole to Chao World which exists in a separate location is unknown.
Chao Lobby
When you first enter Chao World, you will land in the Chao Lobby. From here you can enter all the different areas via the individual doors, or exit via the Warp Hole in the center of the lobby.
Trivia
- The sound which is made when you teleport to Chao World after finishing a level with the Chao Key is the same sound that plays in Sonic The Hedgehog 1, when you end a bonus stage.
- With the Gamecube Engine, when you enter the different rooms, the game displays a title graphic to show which room you are in. On the Dreamcast version, no titles are displayed. This includes a title for "Chao Lobby".
- Upon entering Chao World on the Dreamcast, Omochao will fly around the Chao Lobby, say "Welcome to Chao World!", and then disappear after a while. This does not happen on any other version.
