Chao in Space is a fictional film advertised across multiple Sonic games, starting with Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast in 2001. This expanded into a series of followups seen by advertisements on following Sonic games, culminated with a final "official" YouTube animation created by Sega themselves and released on their social media titled "Sonic Presents: Chao In Space - Official Animation".[1]
