Garden fruit refers to the fruit that grows on the trees already present in the Chao Gardens. These fruit are an infinite source of food for your Chao. Three fruit can grow on each tree. Starting from nothing, they slowly increase in size until they are max size (ripe). A ripe fruit will wobble when you shake the tree, and will eventually fall down. A non-ripe fruit will be stiff and will not fall. The fruit continues to grow even when the tree is being shaken.

Glitches
Sonic Adventure 2 HD Remake
Chao Garden Fruit Texture Glitch
In the HD Remake of Sonic Adventure 2 (Steam/Xbox360/PS3), after completing a Chao Race and returning to the Chao Garden, the fruits will either appear with a water texture or a sky texture. This is a simple port glitch due to the texture ID the fruit uses. In the GameCube version, the fruit always has the same texture at all times.

Hero Garden Fruit Stats
In the HD Remake, Hero Garden Fruit would give 20%-30% Stamina per bite instead of the correct 10% Stamina per bite.
